Are those games made with racist or jingoistic intent? No, I highly suspect not. Is the narrative of a globetrotting, relic-plundering, white American causing rather a lot of destruction in foreign nations while shooting thousands of (at first) non-white and (later) non-American adversaries without a single US villain until the ending of the fourth game indicative of unchecked xenophobic assumptions, not just on the part of the developers, but also embedded in the DNA of the Indiana Jones template on which it's based? And does this imply that maybe there was a lack of non-white people on staff at Naughty Dog?
