I'm certain that you blocked me from Curiouscat because of the post I made a week ago about ensuring every man can get a girlfriend being an objectively good thing. I won't ask you to unblock me, though that would be nice. Rather, I just want to know how I can go about deprogramming myself from those beliefs that I know are pretty toxic. Any advice, please?

Do ADHD meds affect your creativity, in your experience? I'm worried I have ADHD, & might need meds to be able focus on the work I want to do, but I have this fear that my lack of focus is tied to my creative process, & that meds would disrupt both of those things

It sounds like a lot to spend! It ain't fucking right how much mental health care costs for how it's helped you. When writing my post, I was spurred al by "unsure about getting a diagnosis" and that got me caught up in my own struggles to even Seek Care At All. This post you've made is making me think about how one of the earliest places I went to had a community subsidy fund that paid for my first few months of sessions since I didn't have a job at the time, which I was hella thankful for. If OP was talking about neurospych evals in specific, rather than mental health treatment in general, apologies for jumping to conclusion

This is all interesting but also additional different thing: if you are at all thinking about getting a diagnosis and have the means, Go! Sign up for it today. If you don't have ADHD, you probably are struggling with something else that has similar symptoms that can be treated or understood. Or, you actually have ADHD in addition to other things! Start with a therapist or peer support coach if you're fully unsure and tell them about your uncertainty.

Which phase will the Metroid movie that I expect Brie Larson to will into existence fit into? It’s a phase three role but presumably as a producer she’d be deep into phase four. This of course assumes the critical response to the Mario movie hasn’t made Nintendo gunshot about adaptations for another 20 years.

Isn't ensuring that all men get romantic/sexual partners an objectively good thing? More men than ever are starved of intimacy while even the bottom tier of women appearance-wise can find a partner incredibly easily. It makes sense from an evolutionary perspective because women have more investment in child-rearing since they can get pregnant, so it's in their best interest to only seek out men with the best genes (meaning men that are dominant, athletic, etc.). No one cares about the males that are left behind; they are seen as nature's hereditarily unfit. It should be noted that reproduction is the goal of all organisms on this planet (even single-celled amoeba, if you can believe it), so it causes great mental strain to be denied it (I think someone even wrote a chapter about what happens to lobsters that repeatedly get rejected, but I just can't remember who right now unfortunately). When a woman rejects a man, it essentially signals to him "look, I like you as a friend, but your genes aren't strong enough to be carried onto the next generation." However, there's no need for that form of sexual selection in today's civilized world. Government-mandated girlfriends are basically a form of affirmative action for men. Just like how humans need food to survive, they need romantic connection for their emotional wellbeing.

Also, everything that they *believe* is a justification for what they *do*. They believe that God hates gay people and trans people because that belief justifies their political campaign against those groups.

I'm sorry, is anyone going to comment on the 20%/80% thing? There are definitely promiscuous people out there but I'm not seeing 1 in 5 guys having sex with 4 out of every 5 women I know, doesn't this worldview also say women are supposed to be super jealous and don't want men even talking to other women?

Anonymous commented:
To be fair, I think enforced monogamy refers to ensuring that the top 20% of men (the "Chads") aren't promiscuous with the top 80% of women. It's not policing women's sexuality, only the upper minority of men.

Anonymous commented:
If conservative Christians think that after death, everyone is perfectly fairly judged by an all-knowing and all-powerful god, why do they care so much about everything, especially gay and trans people? They should rest easy, thinking that everyone will eventually be treated as they deserve.

Diff. Anon here: While this isn't an unreasonable assessment, it is worth being able to identify the difference between partaking in the white supremacist history vs benefiting from the effects. I feel the guilt should only be felt by those who partake, not benefit. That said, should not someone like yourself who fights against the systems get more leniency since you are choosing to go against those systems to your own detriment?

Obviously the USSR sucked, but your arguments are awful. Invading Nazi Germany when it was doing the Holocaust even if it wasn't invading other countries or Turkey when it was doing the Armenian genocide would be the right thing to do, not imperialism. If you would consider that "declaring yourself world police" and wrong, you would be excusing human rights violations because they come from other countries.

(diff anon) When a democratic nation wages war on a fascist dictatorship for the purpose of regime change, as was the case with the Allies against the Nazis in WWII, is that imperialism? The old saying goes "Evil prospers when good men do nothing". Are you saying that the opposite is true? In essence, that sometimes good men *must* do nothing in order to remain good?
